About The Position

FlynnO'Hara School Uniforms is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Store Manager for our Parsippany, NJ retail location. This role is responsible for supporting overall store performance, including sales, operations, asset protection, and human resources, while delivering an exceptional customer experience and driving profitability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of retail experience preferred
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to interpret sales and inventory reports
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Confident decision-making and conflict resolution abilities
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Effective delegation and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities (written and verbal)
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the day on the sales floor or in the stockroom
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 lbs.), climbing, carrying, and reaching

Responsibilities

  • Oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Support the supervision and direction of team members across sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service
  • Ensure proper staffing coverage by monitoring and adjusting weekly schedules as needed
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by coaching associates to engage with customers and addressing inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Monitor inventory and sales trends to ensure timely replenishment and optimal stock levels
  • Promote product knowledge to enhance team performance and improve sales and service
  • Maintain store presentation standards, including cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising; train staff to uphold these standards
  • Follow company procedures for opening/closing, cash handling, deposits, and daily reconciliations
  • Support loss prevention efforts to safeguard company assets
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching team members to reduce turnover and improve performance
  • Foster a positive team environment that drives strong customer relationships and sales results
  • Encourage customer engagement initiatives such as email capture programs
  • Travel as needed for school events, company meetings, and special projects
  • Oversee inventory processes, including receiving shipments and resolving discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable laws
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
