Co-opportunity is a community-owned grocery store founded in Santa Monica in 1974. We have deep roots in LA County. In fact, our Co-op started the Santa Monica Farmers Market! Our stores offer a full selection of wholesome foods and wellness products that give our customers lots of choices for the health of their families, the community, and the world. Assistant Store Manager - Full Time in Santa Monica You must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings until 10:30 p.m. and weekends and holidays. Purpose: To ensure store security, prompt, friendly customer service, physical store maintenance, and smooth store operations.

Requirements

• Must have 2 year Supervisory experience in a Grocery store
• Ability to motivate and inspire employees
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Thorough understanding of store operating procedures and policies
• Flexibility in availability, including evening and weekend hours
• Regular, predictable attendance
• Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of the store during business hours
• Provide support for front-line staff throughout the store during business hours
• Cover for missing employees when possible
• Ensure excellent customer service
• Maintain security of store during shifts
• Ensure the store is securely opened and closed following procedures
• Ensure the safety of staff and customers
• Monitor all staff and provide guidance and direction as required
• Coordinate staff breaks
• Facilitate customer, staff, and vendor transactions
• Ensure the store is clean and ordering during shifts
• Ensure spills and other hazardous conditions are resolved
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns
• Provide feedback to department managers
