About The Position

Mattress Firm is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join their team. This role is central to helping customers achieve better sleep by providing an exceptional in-store experience and acting as a trusted sleep authority. The position is designed as a transitional role to develop skills necessary for becoming a store manager. Assistant Store Managers are responsible for executing selling programs, supporting a seamless omnichannel experience, and creating an engaging customer-centric environment. They will also lead in resolving customer issues and assist the Senior Store Manager in driving company initiatives, achieving sales goals, coaching associates on selling practices, and ensuring in-store merchandising standards are met across multiple store units. The role involves providing technical and product knowledge to team members and fostering a culture of coaching to improve customer experience and selling aptitude.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Elevate and enhance the customer's in-store experience by being a trusted sleep authority and offering best-in-class products.
• Execute MFRM selling programs and support a seamless omnichannel experience.
• Create a compelling and engaging environment that puts the customer at the center.
• Serve as a lead in resolving customer-related issues and escalating when necessary.
• Assist the Senior Store Manager in driving company initiatives and achieving sales performance goals.
• Coach associates on selling practices.
• Ensure the execution of in-store merchandising in multiple store units.
• Support development of team members by providing technical and product knowledge information to associates, serving as subject matter expert.
• Assist Senior Store Manager with training of store associates.
• Promote a culture of coaching by providing insights as to how team members can improve the customer experience they provide and increase their selling aptitude.
• Achieve or exceed store financial targets through effective execution and customer service at the store level.
• Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
• Follow Mattress Firm procedures for product transfers to ensure proper documentation of inventory.
