The Assistant Store Manager provides oversight, guidance, and support to team members and leaders as directed by the Store Manager and Regional Manager. They oversee the donation door to store floor process, ensuring proper stewardship of all donations and creating a customer-centric experience for shoppers. The role assumes leadership in store operational aspects such as talent management, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, mentoring, and development to build a high-performing team and strong bench strength as directed by the Store Manager. They assist in executing business strategies to ensure the store meets or exceeds forecasted sales and production plans. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting in the delivery of financial and operational goals, including people, sales, staffing, scheduling, payroll, store growth, expenses, mission integration, budgeting, and safety. They assist in the execution and sustainment of department standard operating procedures to maintain standards of store presentation, organization, facility layout and maintenance, quality control, safety standards, and all organizational policies and procedures. They manage change through effective planning, communication, and coaching, maintaining a consistent presence through the store, engaging and seeking feedback from team members. The role assists with ensuring regulatory compliance, conducts facility and equipment audits, and promotes safe work practices. They execute marketing, advertising, and communication strategies and work with community members on mission awareness and advancement. The position manages a broad range of retail activities, including scheduling, opening/closing procedures, production efficiency and volume, store cleanliness, store safety and security operational procedures, and driving performance metrics, while ensuring completion of leader checklists and team communications. They lead the team through hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, mentoring, and development to create a high-performing team, including cross-training of skills.
