I We are looking for an ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER to join our Rowe's team. The Assistant Manager has the overall responsibility for directing the daily operations of the store in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including supervision and training of staff, customer relations, store maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, recruiting and retention of associates, financial accountability, and ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer. This role's location is to be determined.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position
  • Experience with recruiting and performance evaluation processes
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
  • Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
  • Proficient user of MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Leadership and organizational abilities
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving attitude

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, selecting, and managing a team of sales and customer-oriented associates who perform at levels consistent with our company objectives.
  • Support, uphold, and enforce all Company policies, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develops a strong relation with the perishable departments, to help ensure the standards and needs of the departments.
  • Assist in the management of labor and scheduling to minimize labor expenses, while ensuring adequate store staffing in accordance with store, and department needs.
  • Recognize the cause of shrink and works effectively to control losses and helps to increase profits.
  • Assist in ordering merchandise and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels and maximize sales without out of stocks.
  • Correctly verify the delivery of all merchandise and insure that all employees do the same.
  • Ensure that the correct pricing is maintained and that all merchandise is in-date and saleable.
  • Maintains high standards of store image ensuring that the store is clean, well-stocked, and ready for business.
  • Strive to increase sales through suggestive selling skills/techniques and to consistently improve customer service.
  • Ensure information flows to all team members and advises management of significant events affecting the store.
  • Supervise and coach team members in the performance of their duties and safety; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to management.
