About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. You will assist in managing a retail environment, delivering exceptional customer service, and maximizing sales opportunities. With a focus on excellence and attention to detail, you will help create a memorable shopping experience for guests while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in grocery management in a similar environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
  • Strong sales acumen with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed in a dynamic and fast-paced resort environment.
  • Expertise in functional/technical store operations
  • Versatile in store operations to work across all areas of the business.
  • Food Safety Management Certification.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, nights and holidays when required.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Support
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Assist in maintaining store appearance and merchandising standards to showcase products in an enticing and visually appealing manner.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and markdowns.
  • Sales and Service Excellence
  • Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service, assisting guests with product selection, inquiries, and special requests.
  • Actively engage with customers to build relationships, drive sales, and promote brand loyalty.
  • Assist in implementing sales strategies and promotional initiatives to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability.
  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Support the Store Manager in recruiting, training, and coaching a team of retail associates to deliver a consistent and elevated guest experience.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and guidance to team members to foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Assist in conducting performance evaluations and recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
  • Financial Management
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing sales performance, identifying trends, and recommending strategies to achieve sales targets and optimize profitability.
  • Support in managing operating expenses, payroll costs, and other budgetary considerations to maintain financial objectives.
  • Assist in preparing sales forecasts, budgets, and reports for senior management review.
  • Brand Representation and Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to brand standards, policies, and procedures to uphold the reputation and integrity of the resort and retail brand.
  • Represent the brand with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in all interactions with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
