The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in all aspects of daily shift management by performing various duties that are essential to the store's operations. This includes managing customer relations, overseeing inventory control, handling procedural tasks and paperwork, and ensuring effective visual merchandising. The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining both individual and shift sales, providing daily floor coverage, and training Sales Associates. Additionally, this role involves supervising the Point of Sale (POS) system, providing security and loss prevention measures in the store, and managing contests by tracking results and coaching performance. The Assistant Manager also organizes shipments, transfers, and merchandise, performs maintenance of the store, and is responsible for opening and closing the store. They must ensure that minimum sales volumes are maintained for the store to qualify for the Assistant Manager position and hold accountability for store sales and metrics, as well as stock and merchandise flow. The Assistant Manager takes a lead role in store sales and selling practices while maintaining company standards regarding store performance metrics.
