About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager Production Other is a vital key leader within the store. They provide oversight for the full range of operational activities within Production Other and Hard Goods on the Retail Sales Floor, resulting in positive experiences for both employees and customers as well as contributing to retail profitability – all in a manner consistent with our Mission and Values. The Assistant Store Manager Production Other sets expectations for the proper execution of policies and procedures and responds as appropriate to employee performance. The person in this role may also serve as the acting Store Manager when the Store Manager is not present.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a supervisory role within a comparable production, retail, or service-oriented business preferred
  • Experience effectively managing in a fast-paced, professional work environment
  • The ability to properly handle and maintain confidential information
  • Flexibility with scheduling and availability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorship
  • Adherence to consistent attendance and weekly hours expectations based on full-time exempt status
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 21 to 35 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the quality of Production Other products prepared for the retail floor.
  • Adjusts pricing and production needs based on data provided by the Operations Manager.
  • Ensures Procurement product is prepared for the Retail Sales floor following standard operating procedures. Collaborates with ASM Retail to ensure Procurement Inventory is completed according to standard operating procedures.
  • Tracks production metrics, effectively communicates with Associates and Production Other Trainer, and collaborates with the team to consistently meet and exceed production minimums.
  • Conducts daily warehouse walks of Production Other areas, sharing insights with Store Management to ensure alignment.
  • Promotes CommunityAid’s sales and marketing strategies, including sales floor layout, merchandising, product quality and ragout for the Hard Goods Area.
  • Conducts daily floor walks of the Hard Goods Areas on the Retail Sales floor, sharing insights with Store Management to ensure alignment.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Store Manager Retail to assess and address inventory and ragout trends.
  • Ensure that all product is placed on the sales floor in a timely and organized manner. Ensures that all areas are merchandized to CommunityAid Standards.
  • Oversees and Ensure that the ragout process is completed for Hard Goods.
  • Oversees staff for Production Other (Production Other Trainer, Production Associates).
  • Conducts weekly or as needed one-on-one meetings with the Production Other Trainer and Associates.
  • Evaluates potential candidates for cultural alignment and position fit through phone interviews and on-site interviews.
  • Manages the selection and integration of new staff by adhering to company procedures.
  • Supports the Production Other Trainer in training new Associates in their roles, responsibilities, company policies, procedures and best practices, including cross-training in other departments as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure proper staffing levels in adherence with the labor model, including cross-training.
  • Communicates performance expectations, coaching for improvement and success and utilizes existing performance management tools to document conversations.
  • Assists the Store Manager in the annual review process by sharing input on their employees’ performance.
  • Promotes employee engagement through regular huddles and team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, special events, and prioritizing employee recognition.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, as well as CommunityAid policies and procedures, and ensures these are clearly communicated and followed by the Front End and Production Other staff.
  • Maintains a safe environment for both employees and customers.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization at the front end and warehouse/production other spaces.
  • Regularly monitors for safety, promptly addressing and taking measures to correct unsafe work conditions.
  • Promptly reports all near misses and incidents through the designated safety platform and ensures timely communication of these events to the Store Manager.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager.
  • Provides support to other departments as needed or directed by the Store Manager. This position takes responsibility for the overall function of the store when other store management is not present
