About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for growing store revenue and cash flow by creating a memorable experience for each customer. This position controls operational expenses and demonstrates skills in sales building, recruiting, training, and basic computer usage. The Assistant Store Manager reports to the Store Manager and supervises the team and shift supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating leadership and clear communication to ensure effective store operations.
  • Supporting the Store Manager in implementing company programs and executing action plans to meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Maintaining the look and feel of a well-run store.
  • Assisting the Store Manager in new hire training, orientation, and ongoing training and development.
  • Modeling, upholding, and communicating existing and new policies, practices, and standards.
  • Recognizing team members by providing performance feedback, including disciplinary action when necessary, and sharing feedback with the Store Manager.
  • Modeling a customer-first attitude, delivering excellent customer service, and supervising staff to ensure high service standards.
  • Managing shift labor by ensuring efficient scheduling, finding replacements for absences, enforcing break policies, and making staffing adjustments as needed.
  • Assisting the Store Manager with banking responsibilities and accounting tasks.
  • Delivering profit by increasing sales and controlling costs.
  • Placing, receiving, and verifying orders, conducting inventory, controlling waste, and ensuring proper inventory rotation.
  • Ensuring all product levels are maintained.
  • Reviewing the store environment to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement, providing coaching and direction to staff to achieve operational goals.
  • Developing positive relationships with the team by understanding and addressing individual needs and concerns.
  • Maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
