Kate Spade New York is seeking an Assistant Store Leader (Manager) who will leverage their proficiency in retail to drive business initiatives, enhance customer service, and support the Store Manager in achieving financial success. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing business-driving initiatives, achieving store productivity targets, and ensuring all associates complete the sales training program. They will model and supervise the selling environment, provide coaching on sales training processes, and lead by example in achieving personal sales goals. The role also involves building brand equity by communicating the brand's aesthetic and ensuring visual merchandising standards are met. Operational excellence is key, as the Assistant Store Leader will perform store opening and closing procedures, manage payroll budgets, and maintain company policies with a focus on loss prevention.

  • Develop business driving initiatives that build repeat business or attract new customers.
  • Communicate and achieve store productivity targets including sales per hour, adt, upt, and capture rate.
  • Ensure all associates and leadership complete the sales training program and develop strong product knowledge.
  • Model and supervise the selling environment, providing consistent coaching on sales training processes.
  • Assist Store Manager with achieving financial success through measurable results.
  • Assume the Store Manager role in their absence.
  • Lead by example in achieving personal sales goals.
  • Educate the team on sales plans and measurable stats to maximize business.
  • Network in the community to fill open positions efficiently.
  • Conduct ongoing review and assessment of employee performance.
  • Communicate the Kate Spade New York brand aesthetic and philosophy to the sales team and customers.
  • Ensure brand and operating standards are met for brand consistency.
  • Implement visual merchandising directives and maintain store presentation standards.
  • Communicate merchandise sell-through, stock position, and customer feedback to the Store Manager.
  • Perform and supervise store opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist Store Manager with maintaining payroll budget and managing schedules.
  • Monitor and follow company policies with a focus on loss prevention.
  • Manage the processing of all POS transactions.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience in a comparable retail environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze selling reports and identify business trends.
  • Comfortable making decisions and mediating conflict.
  • Proficient in Windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Prior luxury goods experience preferred.
