About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager for the C-Store at ARCO Gas Station is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the convenience store, gas station, and car wash. This role focuses on ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, controlling expenses, and maintaining operational standards to maximize sales and profitability.

Requirements

• Experience in retail management or a similar role.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management and expense control.
• Ability to train and manage employees effectively.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems.

• Knowledge of ARCO operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure outstanding customer service by maintaining a customer-friendly environment.
• Control shrinkage and expenses while scheduling employees according to management guidelines.
• Maintain appropriate merchandise stock levels and ensure perishables are within selling dates.
• Work with bookkeepers to ensure proper inventory maintenance.
• Place Core Mark orders and check in orders as required.
• Ensure employee compliance with policies and procedures, providing proper training and certification checks.
• Oversee money handling procedures and ensure employees are trained on POS and store equipment.
• Maintain ARCO standards to meet or exceed AM/PM Operational Excellence Programs.
• Prepare Daily Activity Reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Order change funds and store supplies as needed.
• Conduct daily gas runs to check competition.
• Empty cash acceptors and ensure all equipment is operational.
• Evaluate and manage employee performance issues and report directly to the C-Store Manager.
