Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service.
  • Assist the Store Director with total store CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index), including communicating with customers regarding storewide concerns and resolutions.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, intercom announcements, and direct customer interaction.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and assist the Store Director in closing the loop between customer and employee relations.
  • Maintain good store conditions, product quality and rotation, labeling standards, and code‑date compliance across all departments.
  • Conduct daily inspections of store conditions and coach employees on opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and maintain positive community relations; support communication with manufacturer representatives, Store, Division, and Corporate personnel.
  • Assist in total store operations, including implementing Company and Division merchandising, operating, and sales initiatives.
  • Support driving sales, achieving gross profit, and managing store expenses.
  • Assist with planning daily operations and monitoring production processes for efficiency and profitability.
  • Communicate with Operations Specialists to support execution of sales promotions and division programs.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed, rotated, and maintained in clean, organized condition.
  • Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly, in‑stock conditions in the back room and all departments.
  • Recommend expenditures for improvement or repair of store equipment or building needs.
  • Communicate Company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to department managers and employees; reinforce compliance in all departments.
  • Meet weekly with department managers to review ads, sales plans, and store promotions; ensure an alternate manager conducts this meeting when the Store Director is absent.
  • Assist in staffing, recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating employee job performance.
  • Assist with personnel actions including promotions, disciplinary action, and termination decisions; complete required documentation.
  • Identify training needs for key employees and ensure completion of development programs.
  • Resolve employee relations issues—including discrimination, harassment, off‑the‑clock concerns, and policy violations—with guidance from Human Resources.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employees, store sales, and Company information.
  • Provide clear, accurate guidance and instruction to department managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Ensure Company safety and health initiatives are implemented and communicated to employees.
  • Emphasize health code, sanitation, and food safety compliance across all departments.
  • Maintain store compliance with food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure all employees complete required compliance training including: Food Safety and Sanitation HIPAA Code of Business Conduct (COBC) Meat Grinding and Tracking Log Texas Workplace Benefits Plan Manager Food Handlers Manager Any other company‑ or state‑specific training
  • Ensure total store compliance with: Division scheduling initiatives Wage and payroll guidelines Time Clock Policy Benefit plans Child labor laws All other employment laws
  • Maintain accurate and complete records consistent with legal requirements and records‑retention policies.
  • May review and approve all department schedules prior to posting to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage.
  • Oversee compliance with proper cash handling procedures, accounting of sales, safe procedures, and protection of Company assets.
  • Assist in maintaining and controlling inventory levels in the back room and on the sales floor per Division guidelines.
  • Control shrink and support loss‑prevention initiatives.
  • Assist with developing operating budgets and control store operating, maintenance, expense, and supply costs.
  • Assist with preparing sales and inventory reports; oversee physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of all merchandise, supplies, and equipment; oversee independent audits as required.
  • Possess a complete understanding of financial reports including P&L, S&P, invoices, and other store documentation.
  • Maintain good working rapport with vendors and the Warehouse.
  • Use and operate related equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
  • Maintain proper temperature controls for products and comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, Company policies, and code‑dating requirements.
  • Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices; requires basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email systems.
  • Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
  • Treat all employees consistently, fairly, and with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
  • Comply with and ensure compliance with Company grooming standards and dress code.
  • Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.
