Assistant, Sterile Processing (Per Diem)

The Sterile Processing Assistant supports the daily functions of the Sterile Processing Department by retrieving case carts, drying case carts, organizing shelves, dust covering supplies, etc.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Orientation program
Responsibilities
- Retrieves used materials, instruments, medical devices and equipment from the nursing units, operating room, emergency department, delivery rooms, nurseries, outpatient departments, etc., according to established procedure
- Prepares case carts for the SPD team
- Cleans areas containing sterile supplies
- Unloads washers and cart washers
- Dries case carts and rigid containers
- Dust covers sterile supplies
- Answers the door bells as needed
