Responsible for loading horses into the starting gates prior to races. Assist with scheduling and supervising the schooling of horses.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in a similar position preferred.
- Must be a skilled horse handler.
- Must be able to work with horsemen and give directions.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be physically agile and able to stand and walk, climb, reach, lift, bend, and work outside in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a similar position preferred.
Responsibilities
- Load horses into the starting gates.
- Assist with scheduling & supervising of schooling of horses.
- Assist with listing of horses that are unruly in the starting gates; help to ensure they are schooled before they race again.
