OCHSNER HEALTH, NORTHSHORE, IS ANNOUNCING A PSYCHOLOGY FELLOWSHIP FOR QUALIFIED POST-DOCTORAL PSYCHOLOGY FELLOWS OFFERING SPECIALIZED TRAINING IN EVIDENCED BASED PRACTICES WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON ANXIETY AND TRAUMA-RELATED DISORDERS. The Ochsner Health fellowship will reside within the Department of Psychiatry which will provide opportunities to work and collaborate with psychiatrists, medical psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, licensed professional counselors, and social workers. The post-doctoral fellow will be working in the Ochsner Mandeville Psychiatry Clinic. The fellow will learn assessment and intervention skills to improve the lives of a culturally diverse patient population from adolescence through adulthood. Patients are referred to the Ochsner Mandeville Mental Health Clinic for a range of mental health concerns of varying acuity. The fellow will get specialized training in treating trauma and PTSD, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and OCD via individual therapy and group therapy modalities. The fellow will also have the opportunity to learn various assessments, including presurgery psychological evaluations and autism assessments with adolescents and adults. Our program offers an excellent opportunity to hone skills for becoming a generalist psychologist or anxiety specialist. Applicants should have experience with or be highly interested in working as a member of a collaborative team. Completion of an APA-accredited internship and a PhD or PsyD in clinical, health, or counseling psychology is required. The fellowship stipend allows for $50,000 in addition to staff benefits.
