About The Position

This position is for an assistant staff analyst who will serve in the role of program coordinator for the Safe Harbor Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. They will assist in research and analysis to make recommendations regarding the use and deployment of resources and the implementation and refinement of operations and programs within the Trauma Recovery Center. This position is distinguished by their responsibility for organizing and carrying out their assignments with relative independence, but under the supervision of the program administrative directors. The employee will analyze and make recommendations for the effective use of resources and personnel, the implementation and improvement of programs and operations, and the refinement of management practices and policies having program-wide impact. Positions in this class also perform special assignments and projects, as directed. Participates in budget planning and grant management activities. Analyzes preliminary budget request and prepares findings and budget recommendations to management. Communicates directly with funders, including preparing periodic and annual reports. Analyzes, evaluates, and makes recommendations for organizing, staffing, financing, and the operation of major new program functions or major modifications of existing programs. Oversees data management and analysis for program evaluation. Oversees and maintains program logistics to ensure fidelity to proper workflow and protocols. Conducts management studies of component organizations of the program to determine if acceptable management practices are being used and program policies enforced to assess organization, staffing, and financing; to define and report problem areas; and to develop recommendations for the solution of problems uncovered.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in a staff capacity analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of problems of organization, program, procedure, budget or personnel
  • Two years of highly responsible administrative or staff experience
  • One year of responsible staff experience in health care or community or social service operations,
  • Working in a program that provides housing and support services to clients who are homeless or are at risk for homelessness
  • Making recommendations for the design and/or implementation or evaluation of programs related to health and human services for high-risk populations (e.g. homeless, justice-involved, mentally ill, substance use disorder or medically complex).
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • Successful clear the Live Scan process through Los Angeles County.
  • Medical Clearance required.
  • Excellent organizational and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat software
  • Knowledge of the functioning of the healthcare setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
