The Assistant Software Applications Instructor works with an IT Coach to train at-risk young adults in learning Adobe and Microsoft Office software in preparation for taking industry-certified exams. Initial classes are in Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. This position requires a hands-on approach to improving critical thinking, computer literacy, and test-taking skills for young adult students ages 18 - 24. The Assistant Applications Software Instructor helps the IT Coach in mentoring students and modeling the importance of having computer software skills in today's high-tech work and business environments. Additional Adobe and Microsoft applications will be available for student learning after they complete the prerequisite courses. This is a part-time position. Retired teachers and software professionals are encouraged to apply.
