About The Position
The Assistant Softball Coach will assist the head coach and oversee various areas within the Athletics and Recreation Department at Johnson. The role involves active participation in the direction of the Johnson Athletic Department, with primary responsibilities including assisting the head coach in all facets of the program, such as recruitment of quality student-athletes, organization and planning of practices, game preparation, administrative duties, scouting, and monitoring student-athlete academic progress. The coach will also educate student-athletes on academic policies and emphasize the importance of being a 'student-athlete'. Compliance with NCAA Division III constitution and bylaws is essential, as is adherence to the Vermont State University Code of Character. The position requires working nights and weekends.
