About The Position

The position involves representing Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) in a professional manner at all times and assisting the head coach with coaching the team. Responsibilities include coaching in individual settings to improve softball skills, maintaining compliance with all NJCAA, ACCC, and NWSCC rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes, and fostering positive working relationships with student-athletes, faculty, and the student body. The role also includes assisting with a coordinated program of practices and competition, recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, monitoring academic performance, and participating in public and alumni relations. Additional duties involve cultivating and soliciting donors as needed and performing all other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and/or three years of coaching experience at the secondary level, or higher, required.
• Experience playing softball, preferred.
• Working knowledge of National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent NWSCC in a professional manner at all times.
• Assist the head coach with coaching the team.
• Assist with coaching in individual settings to improve softball skills.
• Maintain compliance with all NJCAA, ACCC, and NWSCC rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes.
• Foster and maintain positive working relationships with student-athletes in relation to faculty and student body.
• Assist with coaching in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition.
• Recruit quality, academically- and athletically-qualified student-athletes.
• Monitor academic performance and counsel student-athletes relative to academic success, progress, and eligibility.
• Participate in public and alumni relations and promote activities as needed.
• Assist with cultivating and soliciting donors, as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Compensation is in accordance with Northwest Shoals Community College Local Salary Schedule $10,000 (10 months; $1,000 per month).
