About The Position

Aids in the start up and operation of a Tentering Machine to produce a quality product in accordance with predetermined specifications and in conformity with the production schedule by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the start-up and operation of the TDO line in accordance with all procedures and specifications regarding production.
  • Monitors production processes to ensure that they are in control of specification.
  • Responsible for training new and existing employees.
  • Makes constant machinery checks of the TDO line and all associated equipment to assure proper mechanical and electrical functionality.
  • Continues to learn the TDO process from raw materials, operations, and slitting.
  • Assures that good safety and housekeeping practices are maintained at all times.
  • Constantly monitors production runs to assure that the film is at the highest quality level possible and that personal productivity is acceptable.
  • Monitors and ensures that all machine setpoints are correct.
  • Performs the duties of the TDO Operator when needed.
  • Performs testing and inspections on the line to assure that the product is within specifications at all times.
  • Performs departmental checks to ensure that all procedures and policies are being met by all individuals.
  • Performs any other duties as directed to aid in the profitable functioning of the department.
