About The Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Assistant Site Supervisor in Tallahassee, FL. The Assistant Site Supervisor assists the Site Supervisor in overseeing all phases of a construction project from preconstruction to completion. Facilitates the communication between supervisor and on-site employees as well as subcontractors, vendors, clients and administrative staff involved in the project.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform duties/activities of workers supervised
  • Knowledge of wood framing is preferred.
  • Advanced plan reading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Advanced safety knowledge and performance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and follow-up and carry multiple projects through to completion.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • First aid/first responder knowledge preferred.
  • CPR/AED Certified preferred.
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred.
  • Have all safety certifications, 1st aid, fall protection, zoom boom, man lift, hilt gun, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Colt and site-specific safety procedure at all times!
  • Understand and execute safety plan while teaching others and intervening when proper safety protocol is not followed
  • Work with Safety Team to improve safety for all employees on the job site.
  • Assist Site Supervisor with any tasks necessary.
  • Mentor and development other team members in the policies, procedures, systems and technical construction means and methods used by the Company.
  • Actively work to increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Administering the overall job build plan.
  • Setting up Site Specific Safety Plan.
  • Creating jobsite binders.
  • Monitor and follow framing schedule.
  • Setting up ship dates with suppliers.
  • Setting up onsite storage and office if necessary.
  • Review material takeoff and “where used” list.
  • Review Preconstruction report on miscellaneous details.
  • Review shop drawings for all components.
  • Job specific employee orientation and safety training.
  • Create loose lumber drop schedule.
  • Complete all submittals: lumber, components, hold downs, etc.
  • Maintain Fieldwire plan updates and task assignments.
  • Setup supplier submittal & delivery schedule if required.
  • Developing the Job management roles and responsibilities plan
  • High level knowledge and understanding of the job’s estimate, schedule, budget, site plans, site logistics, management needs, site access, scheduling / ordering of cranes, man lifts, forklifts and rigging.
  • Conducts weekly safety meetings.
  • Understand scope of job and monitor extra work.
  • Truss component review / coordination with supplier.
  • Responsible for quality control and inspection approval from the customer.
  • Subcontractor labor management.
  • Coordinate with customer’s job site Superintendent as directed by Site supervisor.
  • Daily pre-task planning, safety audits, implementation / enforcement of site safety plan.
  • Manage hourly personnel for the job / collect, review, and send to office weekly timesheet and new hire information as directed by Site supervisor.
  • Turn in receiving slips to supervisor.
