About The Position

Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor – Expanded Learning Programs (ELP) is responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor with the overall program management, participant supervision, program planning, and implementation of academic enrichment activities. The Assistant Site Supervisor will help manage safe, accurate, and efficient participant sign in/out procedures, and provide coaching and support for Youth Leader staff members. The Assistant Site Supervisor position requires high energy, dedication, patience, good communication skills, and a strong desire to mentor youth, strengthen families, and serve the community.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED
  • One year experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting required
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation
  • Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of one of the following: 48 college credits at an institution of higher education, AA/AS degree, OR passing score on district’s Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of program activities in accordance with the goals and policies of the ASES/21st CCLC grant, school district, collaborative partners, and the YMCA of San Diego County
  • Supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times
  • Provide positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all students
  • Serve as lead staff of the expanded learning program in the absence of the Site Supervisor
  • Actively recruit students and market expanded learning activities to ensure program capacity
  • Collaborate with school and district personnel to align high quality academic activities and to develop and maintain positive relationships
  • Assist with the on-site management of attendance data and procedures, program documents, student files, and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Perform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safe

  • Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities

Benefits

  • Pay Range: USD $21.00 - USD $23.63 /Hr.
