About The Position

The Assistant Site Manager role is based at a customer site in Minden, NV, and involves supervising and maintaining material handling systems. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical equipment and components, as well as robust electrical skills, including knowledge of wiring, AC power, motors, schematics, and control panels. Experience with specific control components like Servo Drives, PLC, PC Controllers, DC Power Supplies, and optical devices is highly valued. The Assistant Site Manager will support the Resident Site Maintenance Manager in various operational aspects, including performance tracking, reporting, predictive maintenance, spare parts management, ensuring facility safety and cleanliness, coordinating with warehouse operators and third-party service providers, and managing emergency situations. The role also entails supporting site expansions and projects, with potential for overtime. Requirements

  • Supervisory experience managing and maintaining material handling systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment & components including drives, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers and other related equipment.
  • Strong electrical skills including wiring, AC Power, AC Motors, electrical drawing & schematics, and control panels.
  • Working experience with MS Office products.
  • Typically an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
  • At least five years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with the following controls components: Servo Drives, PLC, PC Controllers, DC Power Supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photo eyes, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Track & measure Key Performance Indicators and Fault Data, evaluate & analyze the data, implement & direct improvement.
  • Build reports and communication materials to best report and demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance and operations of material handling equipment to our customers.
  • Identify predictive maintenance repairs that are required to maintain system availability.
  • Assist the Resident Site Maintenance Manager with all responsibilities.
  • Ensure identification and accurate management of spare parts inventories by applying Sprocket CMMS.
  • Ensure the facility is kept clean and safe.
  • Make sure all personnel follow safety rules and practice safe work habits, aligning with safety policies from Dematic and its Customers.
  • Provide daily, on-site communication with 3PL’s warehouse operators and management personnel.
  • Be responsible for and coordinate building maintenance services, applying third-party service providers where needed.
  • Ensure a process is in place to handle emergency downs (unscheduled vs. scheduled), including procedures to advise Management, resource call-in plans, and problem escalation within Dematic’s organization.
  • Maintain an effective, written technical procedure for handling blocking issues and adhere to it.
  • Train the personnel and ensure compliance with the Dematic escalation protocol.
  • Support expansions, projects, and other changes as the need arises.
