About The Position

The position involves working closely with the Site Manager to create meaningful community-related opportunities for volunteers. The role includes ensuring that all required documentation is completed and maintained appropriately. Additionally, the position requires transporting volunteers to and from program sites, as well as to various volunteer job opportunity locations or other community outreach activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • A valid NYS Driver's license and must remain a Qualified driver.
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities; 1 year preferred.
  • AMAP/First Aid/CPR/SCIP-R Training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of program volunteers while at program site and during community-based activities.
  • Train program volunteers to perform functional/meaningful and/or volunteer job tasks to the best of their abilities.
  • Oversee overall functioning of site in the absence of Site Manager, including supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Schedule all program activities and volunteer opportunities in collaboration with the Site Manager.
  • Maintain accurate written records as needed with the Site Manager.
  • Assist Site Manager in maintaining communication with parents, advocates, and MSC of volunteers regarding progress and pertinent information.
  • Act as a liaison between voluntary job site staff and program volunteers.
  • Report volunteers' success, satisfaction, and any problems or concerns encountered during day activities to the Site Manager.
  • Ensure protection of volunteers from neglect or abuse during program hours and report incidents to administration in a timely manner.
  • Promote and reinforce all agency philosophies including the guiding principles.
  • Complete and maintain all mandated trainings/certifications as determined by the needs of program volunteers/site.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Complete personal outcome measures training prior to evaluations and assessments.
