About The Position

The Assistant Site Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Site Coordinator in overseeing all on-site logistics, with an emphasis on administrative responsibilities. The Assistant Site Coordinator supports the on-site team to deliver impactful and fun after school enrichment experiences. This includes leading daily meal logistics, field trip logistics, and events, and being the next point of contact in communicating with parents, community members, administration, and staff. The position is on-site, including attending training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and various school sites.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance.
  • TB Test clearance.
  • First Aid & CPR certification (provided by WR).
  • 6 months of experience supervising or leading a team and/or a group of children in a school recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.
  • Ability to use smart phone for work related business (WR provides Wi-Fi/cell stipend).
  • Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure students are always in a safe environment (physically and emotionally).
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.
  • In collaboration with the Site Coordinator, support the on-site team to perform their duties and deliver high-quality programs and/or customer service.
  • Coordinate snacks and meals with food services vendor and provide any related training to WR team.
  • Submit required documentation to food services vendor.
  • Effectively implement site protocols, safety regulations, WR procedures and policies.
  • Oversee and track all compliance requirements and ensure all required documentation is submitted accurately and timely.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders, including participants, families, site personnel and colleagues.
  • Support the development and planning of culminating activities/end of week activities and/or events that highlight all participants' work and accomplishments.
  • Attend off-site field trips if the Site Coordinator is not available.
  • Participate in staff development trainings as required.
