About The Position

The Assistant Service Manager supports the Parts, Service, and Precision departments by ensuring customers receive exceptional aftermarket support following the sale of equipment. This role focuses on customer satisfaction, parts availability, service coordination, warranty assistance, and proactive follow-up to drive long-term relationships and revenue.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, automotive, or related aftermarket environment preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of parts, service operations, or mechanical equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in dealership or ERP software preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a shop or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
  • Occasional extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Exposure to shop environments, including noise, dust, and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for aftermarket customer needs.
  • Conduct proactive customer follow-ups after equipment delivery, repair, or seasonal usage.
  • Assist customers with maintenance planning, service scheduling, and parts replacement.
  • Promote service programs, inspections, maintenance plans, and extended protection programs.
  • Work closely with Parts and Service departments to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Assist in quoting parts and service work.
  • Track open service tickets and communicate status updates to customers.
  • Support warranty claims and ensure proper documentation.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities for parts, service labor, and aftermarket products.
  • Support field sales and precision teams with aftermarket coordination.
  • Participate in customer clinics, promotions, and aftermarket events.
  • Enter and manage work orders, quotes, and customer data in dealership systems.
  • Maintain accurate records for service history and warranty.
  • Assist with inventory coordination as needed.
  • Follow all company policies, safety standards, and compliance procedur
