The Assistant Apartment Maintenance Supervisor reports to a Senior Property Manager and operates under the supervision of the Senior Service Manager to assist with the coordination of general maintenance and repairs apartment homes and other property facilities for an assigned apartment community. Primary responsibilities include coordinating maintenance work order assignments and priorities with the Senior Property Manager and Senior Service Manager; handles most complex maintenance work orders; provides prompt and courteous responses to service requests; facilitates and leads assigned on-site maintenance activities as an extension of the Senior Service Manager. The Assistant Apartment Maintenance Supervisor assists with mentoring and on-the-job training for the assigned maintenance staff which may include painters and/or landscaping staff. Property Manager for an MAA Community leads all aspects of community life and above all – quality customer service. The Maintenance Supervisor leads and coordinates the maintenance team through repairs and maintenance of property facilities and apartments. Assistant Property Managers support the operations and financial performance of the community, handle the collections process, and assist with leasing. In other words, they wear several hats! An Apartment Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repairs to ensure apartments and facilities are in top shape. A special role for an MAA community, a Leasing Consultant supports leasing operations, interactions and communication with residents, and assists with community events and marketing activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and two to four years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • HVAC experience required
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal license required
  • For Florida locations, CAMT license required at time of hire or by the next professional examination and licensing opportunity.
  • Valid driver’s license from the state of residence required.
