About The Position

The Assistant Security Director serves as the second-in-command for all on-site security operations. This role supports the Security Director in supervising officers, enforcing site policies, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for tenants, guests, and employees.

Requirements

• Valid NYS Security Guard License
• Must be willing and able to commute to Garden City, NY
• At least 2 years of security experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations
• MUST be able to stand and walk for long periods

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in mall, retail, or property security is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading and supervising the on-site security team
• Ensure all posts are staffed and post orders are being followed
• Monitor officer performance and provide coaching or corrective action as needed
• Act as the on-site lead in the absence of the Security Director
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and escalations in a calm and professional manner
• Review and complete incident reports; ensure accurate documentation
• Conduct regular inspections and patrols of the mall, including interior and exterior areas
• Maintain strong partnerships with mall management, tenants, emergency responders, and law enforcement
• Support the onboarding and training of new officers
