The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking an Assistant Scientist work on-site, full-time in Miami, FL. The Assistant Scientist carries out a particular research agenda in support of the University’s research goals and objectives. Moreover, the Assistant Scientist, SOM contributes to the scientific community by publishing research findings and promotes the University’s reputation as a leader in the field. The main focus of our research is on HIV-1 and/or drug of abuse-induced molecular and cellular mechanisms of injury to the brain endothelium and the blood-brain barrier. The work involves both cell culture research and animal experiments. The candidate is required upon the appropriate training - to work with HIV-1. Expertise in virology, molecular biology, cellular techniques, and/or animal experimentation.
