About The Position

We are seeking an Assistant School Age Teacher to add to our growing team at our Silver Rated (SUTQ) , NAC Accreditation childcare and preschool center in Canton, Ohio. As an Assistant School Age Teacher , you will be responsible for assisting lead teacher in facilitating educational activities and supporting the overall well-being of young children. You should have previous experience working with groups of children age ranging from 5 years of age - 12 years of age . Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
• At least one year of child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care program.
• Experience teaching and working with children between the ages of 5 to 12 years of age.
• Current physical and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check.
• Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants and young children.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to create a warm, nurturing and responsive environment for children and families.
• Must be dependable and maintain a good work record as to punctuality and daily attendance.
• Applicants must possess current legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus.
• Tdap and MMR Vaccination.
• TB Screening.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a CDA, AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lead teacher to plan and execute daily activities for school-aged children.
• Promote positive group dynamics for safe, fun and team-building activities.
• Actively participate in program activities while maintaining control of the group during activities.
• Supervise children during indoor/outdoor playtime, meal time, and educational activities.
• Attend all summer days for field trips; including staff training, staff meetings, and professional development.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
