About The Position

We are seeking an Assistant School Age Teacher to add to our growing team at our Silver Rated (SUTQ), NAC Accreditation childcare and preschool center in Canton, Ohio. Job Summary In this role, you will be responsible for assisting lead teacher in facilitating educational activities and supporting the overall well-being of young children. You should have previous experience working with groups of children age ranging from (5 years of age - 12 years of age). Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
  • At least one year of child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care program.
  • Experience teaching and working with children between the ages of 5 to 12 years of age.
  • Current physical and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check.
  • Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants and young children.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, compassionate, and able to create a warm, nurturing and responsive environment for children and families.
  • Must be dependable and maintain a good work record as to punctuality and daily attendance.
  • Applicants must possess current legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be comfortable driving a 14-passenger bus.
  • Tdap and MMR Vaccination.
  • TB Screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a CDA, AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lead teacher to plan and execute daily activities for school-aged children.
  • Promote positive group dynamics for safe, fun and team-building activities.
  • Actively participate in program activities while maintaining control of the group during activities.
  • Supervise children during indoor/outdoor playtime, meal time, and educational activities.
  • Attend all summer days for field trips; including staff training, staff meetings, and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
