About The Position

The Assistant Room Operations Manager supports the daily operations of the Rooms Division, including Front Desk, Guest Services, Valet, and coordination with Housekeeping. This entry-level leadership role helps ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures, upholds brand service and cleanliness standards, supports team performance, and contributes to departmental financial goals. This position reports directly to the Guest Services Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required OR Associate degree (2-year) in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related hospitality role OR 1 year of relevant experience with a related degree
  • Strong understanding of Front Desk operations
  • Experience with Property Management Systems (PMS)
  • Familiarity with Night Audit processes
  • Basic budgeting and labor management knowledge
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong guest service and problem-resolution skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support daily Front Desk and Guest Services operations, including opening and closing shifts
  • Provide hands-on leadership during peak arrival and departure periods
  • Ensure adherence to brand service standards and cleanliness expectations
  • Review operational reports and follow up on discrepancies
  • Support rate accuracy and same-day selling strategies
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll tracking, and labor management
  • Partner with Housekeeping on VIP room inspections
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Monitor compliance with safety and loss prevention policies
  • Contribute to managing departmental expenses and budget goals
  • Coach and support associates to drive strong service performance
