About The Position

To help ensure the smooth and efficient operational procedures within the stores, enabling the highest level of customer service. To train and develop store staff as is relates to customer service, operations, store and company policies and product knowledge. To place orders and maintain inventory levels for all wine and beer categories, and to ensure appropriate stock levels on spirits in partnership with spirits buyer. Must be passionate about service and delivering above expectations for the customer and must be independently productive, self-motivated, and have proven leadership ability. This position requires wearing many hats and having a can-do attitude is a must.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years retail management experience required.
  • Must have a knowledge and passion for wine, spirits, and beer.
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Familiar with local Department of Health regulations, California liquor laws and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substance.
  • Demonstrated ability to train staff. Detail oriented, organized, and efficient.
  • Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
  • Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example by greeting customer on sales floor, phone or online, and assisting in determining make, type, and quality of merchandise desired. Provide an educational experience for the guest when purchasing wine, spirits or beer - ensuring that customers receive exemplary customer service.
  • Perform administrative duties such as: scheduling, bank deposits, receiving invoices, website maintenance, and general store maintenance. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Delegate and lead other employees in the completion of store responsibilities and projects, ensuring all employees remain productive with their respective goals.
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, supporting, reviewing, disciplining, and coaching employees directly accountable to their position, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity, all while maintaining HAP.
  • Continually update/edit Store SOPs manual for all primary functions of business, working with the individual employees in development.
  • Assist with ensuring the smooth and efficient operational procedures within the stores, enabling the highest level of customer service.
  • Communicate with Store Manager to discuss to-dos, sales and orders, upcoming events or initiatives, while keeping track of weekly/monthly/yearly goals.
  • Manage a list of store supplies and maintenance to-dos, ordering of supplies, and cleanliness of the store.
  • Develop and improve the organization of office and business-related materials. Maintain filing system for: completed orders, price books, computer/physical files, educational materials, etc.
  • Foster a team environment by creating a fun, competitive, and inviting atmosphere.
  • Ensures Visual Standards and stock levels are maintained throughout the day.
  • Represent and market PlumpJack Wine & Spirits in a positive and professional manner and continually promote PlumpJack Wine & Spirits internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
  • Promote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack Group.
  • Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment at all times.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
  • Adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. Report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work.
  • Responsible for the management of all Noe & Fillmore Wine & Beer club member accounts with feedback from Retail Store Managers. Ordering product, receiving, doing write ups, maintaining and processing of club subscriptions across all channels: POS, Excel, Email lists, Google Drive, Account folders and check off lists. Display a consistent evaluation for process and efficiency while driving enrolment and revenue.
  • Work closely with vendors as it relates to ordering, focusing on best pricing, keeping store shelves full, and buying as needed to get future allocations.
  • Responsible for assistance in meeting or exceeding budgeted Revenue and COGS goals while maintaining healthy inventory management. Assist the General manager in annual inventory reports and procedures.
  • Manage and communicate with spirits buyer in regards to product needs, sell though, and P & L results.
  • Have a complete understanding of back stock organization in all categories, ensuring that product is well organized, safely stored and properly rotated. Manage inventory assuring that depletion rates are maintained.
  • Build our store's wine and beer knowledge through staff training and education. Schedule and plan out tastings for staff with other buyers within allotted budget.
  • Research customer requests and place special orders as needed.
  • Ensure website and 3rd party apps are consistently update with current products; adding new items and deleting old items as needed.
  • Attend trade tastings and events to promote the PlumpJack wine program and continue your wine education.
  • Assist Managers with marketing and social media by creating monthly emails, blogs, and assisting with social media post content.
