Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar Engineering Field
7+ years’ experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities

Nice To Haves

GPS knowledge a plus
Illinois PE license preferred
A sense of humor

Responsibilities

Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders to ensure project success
Composure and diplomatic problem solving
Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
Perform general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction
Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities
Monitor materials sampling and testing schedules
Monitor and analyze progress of contractor’s work
Maintain various reports
Monitor and lead inspection team
