About The Position

We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to work on various Roadway Transportation construction projects located in Riverside County. This position will be on-site and involves inspecting construction procedures and verifying that work completed by contractors is in accordance with contract documents for roadway and bridge projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Engineer in Training Certification required, a P.E. License (State of California) preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with the concepts and practices within the highway and bridge construction field.
  • Must have the ability to assist in the resolution of project issues effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by and enforce construction safety rules and regulations.
  • Read and understand contract documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Complete daily inspection reports.
  • Prepare written reports.
  • Perform inspection of foundation construction (pile driving/drilling).
  • Complete bridge superstructure calculations utilizing four-scales.
  • Perform inspection of falsework placement and removal.
  • Perform inspection of roadway construction.
  • Oversee construction of wet and dry utilities.
  • Monitor traffic control.
  • Assist with inspection of large concrete pours.
  • Assist in the documentation of pay quantities and development of the Final Estimate.
  • Assure general compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Assure documentation, and accuracy of monthly progress payments.
  • Accurately track change order work.
  • Log and track material inspection, certification, and acceptance for the project.
  • Other duties as needed.
