We are providing supplemental engineering services, including project management and construction management, and commissioning oversight to support a large wastewater infrastructure capital improvement program in Orange County, California. We are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to support construction management teams for successful delivery of various, including complex, wastewater treatment plant construction projects. As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will work with Lead Resident Engineers on various (wastewater/civil/mechanical) construction projects, working closely with construction project teams comprised of Project Engineers, Estimators, Inspectors, Schedulers, etc.; and engage in a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with all departments; including stakeholders. You will support project teams on a variety of tasks including technical decisions, schedule reviews, change management, and project meetings with contractor and stakeholders; to effectively deliver results in a timely manner. In addition, you will participate in the contract change process including receiving and responding to requests for information; develop and issue requests for proposals; receive and respond to requests for change; prepare engineer's estimates and records of negotiations; prepare and issue field change orders; review construction submittals for compliance with the technical specifications and contract documents. Leadership, communication and organizational skills with experience in engineering construction management is preferred.

  • Support construction management teams for successful delivery of wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
  • Work with Lead Resident Engineers on various construction projects.

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in the administration of construction contracts and inspection of construction work in the field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Field Office Engineer and/or Assistant Resident Engineer in an Engineering, Environmental or Construction organization.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or CCM.
