About The Position

The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in the Department of Internal Medicine while conducting research as a member of the Translational Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC). This includes actively participating in teaching, service, and scholarly work in the cardiovascular area. The candidate must qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant research professor. This career track position is not eligible for tenure. Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or MD/PhD in a related field, such as Anatomy, Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Pharmacology, from an accredited university.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience studying cardiovascular disease.
  • Experience mentoring students and trainees in research projects.
  • Experience with cell culture, animal studies, microscopy, genomics and proteomics.
  • Publications of cardiovascular research in high-impact journals relevant to the field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent cardiovascular research in the Translational Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC) and provide technical and logistic support for the Center.
  • Publish high impact scientific research in the area of cardiovascular science.
  • Develop collaborations with pertinent faculty within the college and partner institutions.
  • Contribute to the teaching and service missions of the college.
  • Engage in academic activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
