The Assistant Registrar supports the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office to ensure the accuracy and integrity of academic records and student data throughout the student lifecycle, oversee transfer credit evaluation, maintain curriculum updates, and manage key academic processes. The position serves as a primary resource for students, faculty, and staff, supports catalog updates and communication efforts, and contributes to commencement operations, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and a seamless student experience from enrollment through graduation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in higher education, student services, academic affairs, or registrar/records support (strong internships/co-op experience considered)
  • Proven ability to think strategically, prioritize effectively, act decisively
  • Strong written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of current records, registration, and enrollment policies and trends, as well as technological developments as they relate to registrar operation.
  • Familiarity with Student Information Systems (e.g. Ellucian Colleague/Banner, Jenzabara, PowerCampus, Workday Student), Colleague preferred, and proficiency with spreadsheet (e.g. Excel/Google Sheets).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and post transfer credit, including college coursework, AP, CLEP, military service, and other nontraditional experiences.
  • Maintain academic catalog content and implement curriculum updates within the Student Information System.
  • Serve as an information resource for students, faculty, staff, and prospective students via institutional platforms.
  • Process grade changes, manage incomplete grades, and monitor timely faculty grade submission.
  • Administer student record updates including legal name changes and address changes.
  • Process institutional and course withdrawals, leaves of absence, and change-of-status requests, communicating impacts as needed.
  • Review and resolve registration holds and manage approved academic petitions, including honors scholar projects.
  • Support degree audit review, degree conferral processes, and commencement preparation.
  • Assist with course cancellations and related communications to students, faculty, and advisors.
