About The Position

How you make a difference The Assistant Regional Director of Mental Health (ARDMH) assists in ensuring the mental services meet or exceed the local standard of care and that the programs provided are consistent across all sites at the direction of the Regional Mental Health Director. Assumes a consultative role within the field operations organization, meaning they provide guidance, direction and support of Mental Health programs as requested by supervisors, ensuring Mental Health staff are trained and supported in the delivery of care, acting as a conduit for the sharing of information and collaborating with field operations and clinical leadership. Work collaboratively with the RMHD to provide clinical oversight, case consultation, training, and on-boarding, suicide prevention programmatic tools and clinical supervision to site mental health leadership. Qualifications & Requirements Education Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, or behavioral science field. Experience Minimum 5 years professional experience, correctional healthcare strongly preferred. Multi-site support experience preferred Licenses/Certifications Trained and licensed as a Mental Health Professional (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PhD, PsyD) Licensed to practice psychology, counseling, social work, or other related field in the State(s) where oversight is being provided by the appropriate state licensing board. Current (and must maintain) CPR certification Key Responsibilities Provide support, supervision, clinical oversight, and case consultation to site mental health staff under the direction of the RMHD to ensure compliance with contract requirements, accreditation standards, patient safety initiatives, and policies. Participate in interviewing and selecting Mental Health Professionals and Leadership, and provide clinical coverage at sites when necessary. Train and onboard new mental health leadership, and contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Program. Implement evidence-based treatment programs, peer counseling, and socialization support groups, and develop and monitor standards of care and evidence-based practices at each facility. Collaborate with onsite mental health leaders to ensure adequate training for staff, provide clinical support and oversight through case consultations and critical incident debriefings, and offer in-service trainings to correctional staff to enhance their understanding of mental illness. Requirements
