About The Position

This position provides support and education for nursing clinical programs with an emphasis on Infection Control and Disease Prevention. The role involves developing, implementing, educating, and monitoring clinical programs that meet Professional Nursing Standards of Care and Practice as per the applicable State Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Association. The position also requires advising and supporting facilities in compliance with State and Federal Survey Regulations for Medicare and Medicaid Licensure and Certification, focusing on Infection Prevention, Control & Immunization. Additionally, the role includes assisting facilities in response to endemic, epidemic, and pandemic disease outbreaks, and providing oversight for reportable events submitted to the Health Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 20+ years of Clinical and Management experience preferred.
  • MDS certified, Legal Nurse Consultant or Risk Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with CMS/OIG surveys including Jeopardy citations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Regional or Corporate Nurse experience.
  • PCC knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, educate and monitor clinical programs.
  • Advise and support facilities in compliance with State and Federal Survey Regulations.
  • Assist facilities in response to disease outbreaks.
  • Help write plan of corrections (POC) and Allegation of Compliance (AOC) for survey deficiencies.
  • Monitor facilities compliance with POC's submitted to State Health Department.
  • Provide oversight for reportable events submitted to Health Department.
  • Provide training to facility Administration and staff.
  • Assist Administrator with hiring, training, and disciplinary actions for the Director of Nursing.
  • Conduct monthly Regional DON meetings for training and development.
  • Assist facilities with clinical, MDS, dietary, social services, and regulatory policies.
  • Conduct visits to assess and train clinical staff.
  • Attend regional meetings and provide clinical insight.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the MDS department.
  • Monitor and assist with RAC audits.
  • Develop Regional tracking and trending reports for clinical metrics.
  • Assist facilities in improving 5-star rating in all categories.
  • Assist facility defense attorneys with lawsuits and document production.
  • Review record requests for appropriate documents.
