Foster Farms is looking for a dedicated individual to assist the Ranch Manager in overseeing all ranch activities and functions related to assigned fryer ranch operations. The role involves contributing to the grow out program of fryers, ensuring optimal conditions for quality and productivity, and maintaining ranch facilities and equipment. The position requires adherence to strict sanitation and disease protection procedures, as well as managing ranch production costs and maintaining accurate records of ranch activities.

  • Assist the Ranch Manager in overseeing all ranch activities and functions.
  • Direct the grow out program of fryers through setup, brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, and medications.
  • Maintain ranch facilities and equipment for optimal usage and appearance.
  • Enforce strict sanitation conditions and disease protection procedures.
  • Report abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor.
  • React responsibly to emergencies affecting the chickens.
  • Manage and control all ranch production costs including labor, fuel, supply, utility, medication, and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of ranch activities such as feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy consumption.
  • Provide training and delegate duties to ranch personnel.
  • Adhere to and enforce company safety, animal welfare, and disease prevention guidelines.
  • Maintain awareness of industrial safety and report problems to the Field Supervisor.
  • Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
  • Preferably have poultry raising experience.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
  • Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
  • Preferably have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
  • Must be able to work as scheduled, including overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Poultry raising experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour.
  • Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm.
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am.
