Foster Farms is looking for a dedicated individual to assist the Ranch Manager in overseeing all ranch activities and functions of assigned fryers and fryer ranch. The role involves contributing to the management of fryers through various tasks including setup, brooding, temperature control, ventilation, mortality management, vaccinations, and medications to ensure optimal conditions for quality poultry production. The position also requires maintaining ranch facilities, enforcing sanitation procedures, and responding to emergencies affecting the chickens. Additionally, the candidate will assist in managing ranch production costs and maintaining accurate records of ranch activities. Training and delegating duties to ranch personnel while adhering to safety and animal welfare guidelines are also key responsibilities.

  • Assist Ranch Manager in overseeing all ranch activities and functions of assigned fryers and fryer ranch.
  • Direct the grow out of fryers through setup, brooding, temperatures, ventilation, mortality, vaccinations, and medications.
  • Maintain ranch facilities and appearance, coordinating with maintenance for needed materials and service calls.
  • Follow and enforce strict sanitation procedures and report any abnormalities to the Manager or Field Supervisor.
  • React responsibly to emergencies that could adversely affect the chickens.
  • Manage and control all ranch production costs including labor, fuel, supply, utility, medication, and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of ranch activities such as feed, mortality, fuel, production, and energy consumption.
  • Provide proper training and delegation of duties to ranch personnel.
  • Adhere to and enforce company safety, animal welfare, and disease prevention guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Must have good mathematical and organizational skills.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
  • Must be able to move and lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting the chickens.
  • Must be able to work as scheduled/needed including overtime, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce company standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Preferably, will have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have the ability to work at other ranches/complexes as needed.
  • Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour.
  • Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm.
  • Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am.
