About The Position

The Assistant Racquets Professional contributes to the overall success of the racquets department by delivering high-quality instruction, exceptional member service, and a welcoming environment across both tennis and pickleball programs. This position teaches lessons and clinics, supports junior and adult programming, and assists with events. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, reliable, professional, and committed to growing participation in both sports.

Requirements

• Competitive skill and demonstrated teaching capability in both tennis and pickleball.
• USPTA or PTR certification for tennis (or actively pursuing).
• PPR or IPTPA pickleball certification preferred (or actively pursuing).
• Prior experience teaching in a club, camp, academy, or recreational setting.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, service-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday event-based schedules as needed.
• Ability to teach actively on court for multiple hours.
• Ability to lift and move equipment such as ball baskets or event materials.

Nice To Haves

• PPR or IPTPA pickleball certification preferred (or actively pursuing).

Responsibilities

• Teach private and semi-private lessons for adults and juniors in both tennis and pickleball.
• Assist in group clinics, including beginner, intermediate, live-ball, junior programs, and seasonal camps.
• Support team practices, drills/clinics, and interclub coaching.
• Promote player development pathways and monitor progress for both juniors and adults.
• Encourage member participation in clinics and events while creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
• Provide excellent customer service; greet members, engage positively on and off court.
• Communicate clearly regarding programs, schedules, and lesson opportunities.
• Uphold club culture, sportsmanship, and professional standards at all times.
