About The Position

The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the overall success of the community by delivering exceptional service, driving leasing performance, and maintaining strong operational and financial practices. This position serves as both a sales leader and operational partner to the Property Manager, ensuring a seamless experience for residents, prospects, and team members alike. This role blends leasing, customer service, administration, and financial responsibilities. The Assistant Manager helps create a welcoming environment while also supporting the day-to-day operations that keep the community running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Strong leasing and closing skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in leasing, property management, customer service, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting practices (accounts receivable/payable).
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing and related regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective residents, identify their needs, and professionally present apartment homes and community features.
  • Guide prospects through the leasing process and secure lease agreements from qualified applicants.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate information across advertising platforms.
  • Support and execute renewal strategies, including resident outreach and lease discussions.
  • Provide a warm, professional, and responsive experience for all residents and guests.
  • Address resident questions, concerns, and service needs with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Foster a sense of community by supporting resident engagement efforts and events.
  • Assist with rent collection, accounts receivable, and delinquency management.
  • Complete lease documentation, applications, and required paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain organized records, reports, and files in accordance with company standards.
  • Support weekly reporting, budgeting awareness, and operational tracking.
  • Perform inspections of model units and vacant apartments to ensure readiness.
  • Conduct regular community walks and report maintenance needs.
  • Assist with move-ins and ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for new residents.
  • Maintain awareness of local market trends and contribute ideas to improve performance.
