The Assistant Property Manager at YMCA Camp Greenville plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and facility management functions of the camp, which is located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. This position involves leadership and assistance under the direction of the Property Director, contributing to the camp's mission of strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The role includes overseeing maintenance tasks, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, all while being part of a dynamic team dedicated to making a positive impact.

  • Achieves tasks, duties, and responsibilities in facility maintenance, landscaping, housekeeping, equipment repair, and operations.
  • Assists with planning and implementing a preventive maintenance program and managing related contracted services.
  • Implements and completes work orders through the assigned management system.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to assigned seasonal personnel.
  • Coordinates training for all assigned maintenance staff.
  • Assists with personnel actions like hiring, scheduling, evaluations, and appraisals for seasonal staff.
  • Works with the Property Director to ensure optimal financial performance of the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensures compliance with state, local, and Y health and safety regulations at assigned locations.
  • Plans and conducts meetings with staff to ensure compliance with established practices and to implement new policies.
  • Exemplifies YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or Trade certification or equivalent work experience in a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of building management and maintenance experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of management/supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated maturity, responsibility, and sound judgment decisions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to and knowledge of YMCA philosophy and mission.
  • Understanding of state, local, and federal safety regulations (DHEC, OSHA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated management skills related to facility management, leadership, communication, training, and problem-solving.
  • Must complete mandatory YMCA trainings within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience in a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of outdoor camp operations.
