About The Position

The Affordable Multifamily Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining our communities to a market-ready standard, ensuring a high level of service, at all times. Affordable Multifamily Assistant Property Managers are also responsible for building and motivating high performing teams to maximize the performance of the property. 587 multifamily units, Project Based Section 8 - NYCHA, HDC, PACT. Required schedule Sunday - Thursday (off FRI, SAT). ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Ensuring the smooth running of our community in a fast-paced environment. Assist the Property Manager with the overall operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, audits, etc. Assist the Property Manager with providing superior customer service and communication to our residents and prospects to enhance customer satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability. Complete lease/renewal paperwork to ensure completion of company standards. Track and evaluate advertising, and all client traffic. Assist the team by maintaining and modeling the Cushman & Wakefield mission to be the best national management company. Assist the Property Manager with the day-to-day operations of entire on-site team, ensuring that all Cushman & Wakefield policies and procedures are being followed. Maintain effective on-site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching team as necessary. Maintain residents' files in accordance with company standards. Maintain a positive living environment for community residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow-up. Manage and maintain all aspects of overall community budget and finances. Work with leasing staff to ensure that leasing/marketing goals are being met.

Requirements

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills.
  • General office, bookkeeping and sales skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Vocational school required
  • 1+ years of on-site Affordable NYC Multifamily Assistant Property Manager experience required
  • Required Schedule on-site Sunday - Thursday (off FRI/SAT)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preference for Yardi systems experience
  • Strong preference for bilingual Spanish language skills
  • Strong preference for experience with Affordable Leasing, and Delinquency process for late payment collections
  • Strong preference for experience managing vendor info/payments, and managing workorder scheduling / maintenance workorder priority completion.
