About The Position

The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in managing an affordable housing property, working closely with the Property Manager. This position involves interacting with tenants to address various issues such as collections, lease administration, and complaints, while ensuring the property is well-maintained through inspections and coordination with maintenance staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the field of Property Management, including experience with Section 8
  • Previous supervisory experience, a plus
  • Familiarity with affordable housing
  • Experience managing maintenance staff, a plus
  • Understanding of annual certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Yardi software experience a plus
  • Experience working with unions is a plus
  • High School diploma OR GED; Some college, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducting daily arrears collections, including resident visit follow-ups as needed
  • Overseeing the resident move-in and move-out process
  • Inspecting all units prior to move-ins and after all move-outs
  • Working in conjunction with maintenance staff on the administration of work order requests
  • Assisting the PM with conducting annual unit inspections to ensure compliance with Tax Credit Regulatory standards
  • Ensuring on-time collection and completion of all annual resident certifications
  • Processing new move-in packages
  • Preparing Section 8 packages for reviewing supervisor
