About The Position

MCS is hiring for an Assistant Project Manager in Tampa, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The Assistant Project Manager must demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management abilities, and the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Project Manager will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations. Requirements

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration with project stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and find practical solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and adjust project plans accordingly.
  • Effective organizational skills for managing time, tasks, and team performance.
  • Proficient at multitasking, prioritizing, and responding promptly to project needs.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities to enhance project efficiency and working independently when required.
  • The ability to travel outside the Greater Tampa Area.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the electrical director in the development and distribution of project documents such as project budgets, project schedules, scope statements, and project plans to the project team.
  • Executing project management administrative and bookkeeping tasks, including managing invoices, purchase orders, and inventory reports, among other financial documents.
  • Supervising the project procurement process and maintaining detailed logs of material status, tracking, delivery schedules, and other critical items.
  • Accompanying the director and/or project managers to meetings with project clients to assess their needs and define project requirements, acceptance criteria, and project timelines.
  • Serving as the liaison between the director, project team, and project clients throughout the project life cycle.
  • Assisting project managers in monitoring project progress and team members' performance, and providing updated reports to the director on a regular basis.
  • Scheduling stakeholder meetings, recording meeting minutes, archiving pertinent communications, and documenting and generating reports.
  • Fostering cross-team collaboration to assist project team members in completing project tasks and producing deliverables, and promote a team-centered culture within the electrical group.
