Assistant Project Manager
About The Position
Shambaugh & Son L.P. is one of the largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors in Indiana and among the preeminent specialty contractors in the nation. They specialize in a full range of new and retrofit construction for industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects. The company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Regional Mechanical Division. In this role, the individual will be tasked to assist in pre-planning and managing construction projects utilizing company resources.
Requirements
- Knowledge in reading plans and specifications for purpose of ordering material and estimating of change orders.
- Ability to order, track, and expedite for timely delivery of MEP and specialty items required for the project.
- Excellent communicator in both written and verbal forms.
- Self-motivated, working under minimal supervision.
- Customer oriented.
- Team player with the ability to motivate others.
- Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date change order, subcontractor, RFI, and contingency logs
- Assist with estimating, takeoffs, and project proposals
- Work with Labor Superintendent to ensure labor plan is being carried out
- Communicate with purchasing and subcontractors to secure schedule and scope
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment
- Satisfy customers’ needs to develop repeat business
- Other duties as assigned
