About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our client's team located near Albany, NY. This role supports the Project Manager in overseeing construction projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of project management, from pre-construction planning to closeout documentation, while fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and on-site personnel.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience (3-5 years) will be considered.
Exposure to construction or project management through internships or similar experience is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and modern construction industry software.
Familiarity with project management technology and tools.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Detail-oriented with a drive to complete tasks efficiently.
Commitment to confidentiality of company and client information.

Responsibilities

Review drawings and specifications, identifying critical path and long-lead items.
Maintain and update submittal, RFI, and Punchlist logs.
Participate in bid preparation, solicitation, and tracking of bids.
Organize and draft bid forms for submission.
Assist the Project Manager in developing and updating project progress schedules.
Procure, review, and track submittals, ensuring timely designer approval and specification conformity.
Attend project and pre-installation meetings, providing updates and support for project execution.
Obtain subcontractor pricing proposals and assist in review for acceptance.
Track and verify subcontractor invoices and requisitions.
Assist in tracking budgets, subcontracts, cost projections, purchase orders, and change orders.
Communicate with customer representatives and on-site personnel to ensure smooth workflow and monitor project timelines.
Assemble and track final submittals, O&M manuals, releases, and other documentation for project closeout.
Help ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support the successful completion of projects.
